A Jar of M&Ms

I recently read a story of a teacher who wrote her own obituary before succumbing to cancer at the young age of 32. A vibrant life cut short! How many times must we be reminded of how fleeting life is and to live our lives to the fullest?
Forrest Gump said that life is like a box of chocolates, but I say life is like a jar of M&Ms. One M&M for each month of our life. If we live on average for 72 years, we have about 860 M&Ms in the jar of life (I hope to have as many!). The sad part is we are all going to run out of M&Ms...some sooner than others and more painfully. Therefore, I am making a commitment at the age of {Coughy}-3 (never thought I would live this long) to let go of all the bull**** in my life and live more purposefully.
That means letting go of all the bogus people, stuff and, yeah, even food! However many M&Ms we have left in our jars, let's not waste them on reliving the past, on insignificant people or THEIR drama, on trying to get the irredeemable to see the light, on making ourselves smaller so others are more comfortable or lamenting at the dinner table that we woulda, shoulda, coulda. I am going to make my jar of M&Ms count for something!
What will you do with your jar of M&Ms?
